A certified CrossFit Level 2 Trainer and USAW Level 1 Sport Performance, Michael specializes in assisting athletes to get stronger and faster while remaining focused on the core fundamentals and safety. A passionate student of CrossFit and Olympic lifting, he is the director of programming for CFR and RBBC which promises to deliver real results.
Safety, form, speed, weight is his motto.

Alan is a certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. He is also a certified CrossFit Endurance and CrossFit Weightlifting trainer. Everybody knows him at the gym as “Big Al” or “BA”. Alan started CrossFit in 2010 and began coaching after his L1 certification in 2012. His athletic background includes running, bodyboarding, golf, and triathlons. Alan’s coaching approach is building and focusing on the basic fundamentals in order for athletes to grow accordingly. Improving an athlete’s overall wellness inside and outside the gym is his coaching mantra. His family is a staple at CFR with his wife, Joanna, and his daughter, Iz.

A certified CrossFit Level 1 trainer and USAW Level 1 Sport Performance, Nabil grew up playing ice hockey and has 7 years of mixed martial arts studying Shotokan, Taekwondo, and Boxing. He has participated in multiple physical challenges including a triathlon, ½ marathon, Tough Mudder, multiple 5k, 10k, and 20k courses, as well as competing in local CrossFit Competitions. Nabil started coaching in 2012 and has become infatuated with Olympic movements. He works to understand the movements to better improve himself and his athletes.
Paolo ,also known as “P”, is a certified CrossFit Level 1 trainer. Paolo started CrossFit in 2011 and instantly developed a passion for the sport. This lead him to pursue and become a certified trainer in February of 2014. Without much of a sports background, CrossFit has given him the platform to express his physical abilities which also lead him to a new found love with Olympic weightlifting.
Paolo has competed with CrossFit Resistance in both weightlifting meets and local CrossFit competitions. Seeing and helping his fellow athletes get stronger, fitter, and faster is what keeps his passion growing. “Never stop learning” is what he lives by and drives him to help others. He looks forward to learn more and continue to grow as coach. You can catch him frequently taking part in WODs at Resistance with his wife, Marissa.
Jorge, aka “Georgie”, is a certified CrossFit Level 2 trainer. An exceptional athlete from a young age, he remains an avid skier, surfer, cyclist, and outdoorsman. After discovering CrossFit, it instantly became his greatest passion. For anything gymnastic or bodyweight related, Jorge is your guy. Through further education and experience he hopes to become the best coach he can be and inspire his athletes. “Esse quam videri” (To be, rather than to seem) is the mantra that he both lives and coaches by.
JB is a certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. His athletic background started early in his childhood playing sports, mainly basketball and golf, competitively through college. JB has always been an avid runner, competing in multiple 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons. He started CrossFit in early 2013 and instantly became addicted. He earned his L1 cert in June 2014 and has been interning since with the Resistance coaching staff. JB has also been instrumental in the creation of the CFR running group with Coach Alan. It’s a family affair when JB is at CFR as you will regularly see him at the box with his wife, Donna, and son, Jaxen.
Alberto Galvan received a B.S. degree in Athletic Training from California State University, Northridge. He is a certified athletic trainer (National Athletic Trainer’s Association), strength and conditioning specialist (National Strength and Conditioning Association), and a corrective exercise specialist, performance enhancement specialist (National Academy of Sports Medicine). Additionally he is a CrossFit level 1 trainer and is a certified Graston Technique provider. Coach Alberto works full-time as an athletic trainer for Glendale Adventist Therapy and Wellness Center performing orthopedic rehabilitation with physical therapy patients and coaching senior fitness classes. He is the head athletic trainer at Burbank High School, working with the athletics program to prevent, evaluate, and treat athletic injuries. Alberto focuses on integrating his knowledge of sports medicine and rehabilitation with our Resistance community.
Stirling has always had a passion for sports and an active lifestyle;
he played football, tennis, and lacrosse throughout his high school
career and loves spending his winters skiing in Colorado. Finding the
typical “globo” gym routine monotonous, he discovered Crossfit in
2013. Stirling quickly fell in love with the effective and dynamic
style of workout. He enjoys practicing as much as he does teaching and
never minds staying after sessions to help others progress to achieve their goals; he has obtained his Crossfit L-1 certification to help further his ability to do so.
